The artist behind the landscapes

Welcome to Jennifer Esseiva landscape photography, where I share my vision of nature’s quiet power, untouched horizons, and fleeting light. I’m a Swiss fine art landscape photographer based in Lausanne. Through my work, I seek to capture the quiet power of nature, untouched horizons, fleeting light, and poetic silence.

Most weekends, I’m out in the field with my Nikon Z8, exploring the mountains, coasts, and remote places that inspire me. From Switzerland to the Faroe Islands, the Azores, and beyond, I chase beauty with a sense of wonder and care.

Lately, I’ve also started creating self-portraits in colorful dresses, blending human presence with natural scenery in a more expressive way.

A poetic approach to landscape photography

I photograph landscapes to express something personal, not just to show a place, but to share how it feels. Each image is a composition of light touching the land, shaped by colors, textures, and atmosphere.

My style is vibrant and emotional. I work with bold skies, flowing water, and striking contrasts. I look for the beauty of nature as it is, and I want people to dream when they look at my photographs.

Whether it’s a frozen lake in Switzerland, a volcanic slope in Lanzarote, or a dramatic sea stack in the Faroe Islands, I try to capture the emotion that lives inside the landscape.

This is how I create: I follow the light shaped by nature to build a world of my own.

Landscape photography of the volcanic vineyards of La Geria in Lanzarote, Canary Islands, captured at blue hour under a full moon. The image features curved rows of vines surrounded by black volcanic soil, with distant volcanoes rising in the background. Soft, dusky light and moon glow create a surreal and serene atmosphere. Taken by Jennifer Esseiva with a Nikon Z8, this scene blends tradition, geology, and lunar magic.
Lanzarote: volcanic beauty shaped by light

Explore the raw, surreal landscapes of Lanzarote in my newest photography series. From the glowing slopes of El Cuervo at sunset to the quiet textures of Órzola’s tide pools at dawn, this island reveals its soul through earth, wind, and sea. Let yourself be transported by the light, colors, and silence of one of the most unique places in the Canary Islands.

Photographing the Blood Moon in Switzerland

On September 7, 2025, I spent the night in the Lavaux vineyards to capture the total lunar eclipse. It was only my second attempt at moon photography, and the evening turned into a mix of cold air, excitement, and unexpected lessons. In this article, I share the location, my setup, the timelapse I created, and what I learned from this unforgettable night under the red moon.
